A Walk–in-interview (written test/Interview) is scheduled to be held at the office of ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar-751023 for the recruitment of different posts for the project entitled, “Demography Integrated Surveillance for Health Assessment (DISHA) on Dengue and Chikungunya in Tigiria block of Cuttack district, Odisha” funded by NBM, BIRAC, New Delhi” under Dr. Subrata Kumar Palo, Scientist-E. Eligible candidates may appear for the walk-in- interview on 21/09/2023 at the stipulated time mentioned below. Essential QualificationMD in Community Medicine / Graduation in medicine (MBBS)/ AYUSH or equivalent with MPH or MBA / Masters in social science or sociology or social work / PhD in demography or epidemiology. Communication fluency in English and local language (verbal and written). Experience in handling and management of research projects. Should reside at the study site.
DesirableExperience in field implementation of projects and involvement in primary community-based data collection activities. Training/ experience in Large-scale community based surveys/health related surveys or in a topic relevant to the project. Basic knowledge of data management and statistical analysis. Sound knowledge of resource management especially team management. Experience of handling electronic data capture and its related processes.
Nature dutiesCoordinate activities between department and field teams for effective and efficient implementation of programs and other field activities, including monitoring and supervision.Plan the implementation framework of the study in field, monitoring frameworks, development of CRFs, testing of software application modules.Develop operational guidelines and SOPs.Liaise with district administration, health department and community representatives for community engagement.Willing to travel extensively in the field area.Coordination with GIS, IT and administration teams for the entire surveillance activity.Maintain networks and interacts with funding agencies to support project activities.Participates in data management, analysis, report writing and manuscript preparation.Identifies new research opportunities and writes new proposals. Represent the organization in various forum.

Essential QualificationMPH / MSW / Masters in Sociology / Masters in Anthropology/ Masters in Population Science Or M.Sc. or M. Tech or M.A in (Geography or Geology or Environmental Science) Or P.G. Diploma or higher qualification in Geo-informatics, Proficiency in local language and English, Should reside at study site.
DesirableField experience of research projects and handling of field workers for data collection, Handling of paperless data collection system (electronic data), Proficiency in local language (writing and speaking), Proficiency in remote sensing image processing and Arc GIS, Quantum, ERDAS, GRASS etc GIS software.
Nature dutiesImplementation of field data collection, training and handholding of the field workers in data collection processes.Ready to travel extensively in the field area.Monitor data collection and perform quality check.Coordination with the teams and stakeholders involved in the data collection activities. Follow uniform SOPs for implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of geo-spatial component in sync with other sites.Conducting satellite image processing, interpretation and digitization as instructedImplementation of field data collection and handholding of the field workers in conducting the participatory mapping processes.Monitor data collection done by the field workers and perform quality check.Coordination with census, IT teams and other community stakeholders involved in the data collection activities.Any other task assigned by core team or Project Manager

Nature dutiesThe incumbent is expected to conduct field based mapping activities, quantitative data collection using electronic devises and process documentation.The incumbent is expected to remain in the field and conduct field based census enumeration activities, quantitative data collection using electronic devises and process documentation.Any other task assigned by core team or Project Manager or Research Assistant

DesirableB. Sc with Biological sciences with Diploma in computer and office procedure from a recognized university with working knowledge of MS office (word, excel, power point). Proficiency in local language and sensitive to local culture, customs and beliefs.

Terms & Conditions: –

  1. Qualification & Experience should be in relevant discipline/field and from an institution of repute. Experience should have been gained after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
  2. Age relaxation may be given to the candidates having working experience in ICMR-RMRC, BBSR project.
  3. The engagement is purely on contract basis and the Director of the Institute reserves the right to dispense with his services at any time without assigning any reasons.
  4. The engagement will get automatically cease to be on present/extended assignment or completion of the aforesaid project activities, whichever is earlier.
  5. The engagement can be terminated at any time by giving one month notice on either side. His/her contract can be terminated forthwith or before expiry of the notice period by making payment of a sum equivalent to one-month contractual amount.  However, s/he will not be permitted to surrender one-month contractual amount in lieu of the period of notice of unexpired portion thereof and he will be required to serve the full period of notice.
  6. She/he will be normally posted at the study site; however, she/he may be temporarily posted to other study sites in the interest of project work.
  7. She/he will not divulge any information gathered or outcome of research work during the period of your assignment to anyone who is not authorized to have the same.
  8. The Director, ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar reserves rights to consider or reject any contract/ application/candidature without assigning any reason.
  9. Submission of wrong or false information during the process of selection shall disqualify the candidature at any stage.
  10. The Number of vacancies may vary according to requirement at later stage.

Interested candidates are requested to bring their Original Certificates, Mark Sheets, and Experience Certificate along with the duly filled Application form (Format Attached) for document verification along with a set of photo copies of all the documents on the scheduled date & time at ICMR-RMRC, Bhubaneswar.

No Candidates will be entertained after the stipulated reporting time. After scrutiny and verification of original documents eligible candidates will be required to appear for the Interview/Skill test.
